Job summary
As
a Senior Paediatric Audiologist you will be an integral member of a small but
friendly audiology team. Based at the Child Development Centre in Warrington, you
will be assessing babies, children and adolescents, some of whom have complex
needs. The information obtained may contribute to the childs educational
health and care plan. You will be communicating with the Specialist teachers
for children with hearing impairment and with allied health professional
colleagues. You will have many opportunities to become involved in quality
improvement activities and leadership courses of interest. Good communication
& listening skills are extremely important to ensure positive outcomes for
the functioning of the team.
Main duties of the job
Whilst
working as a member of the audiology team responsibilities include managing own
clinics and individual workload, completing specialist work which includes
comprehensive testing and diagnostic assessments of hearing, in-depth knowledge
of paediatric test protocols, and assessment techniques. To arrange and advise
referral to other professionals for treatment / management when required e.g.
referral to ENT, nurse or GP for treatment of an infection.
Good
record keeping is essential and includes accurate recording of results and updating
patient records, writing reports and updating national S4H database. You will
be involved in audit and quality improvement activities.
The
ability to take accurate and safe impressions of the ear following BSA
recommended procedures for impression taking and behavioural testing of
children in hearing aid clinics.

You
would be a member of a Multidisciplinary Team providing a comprehensive and

- Experience in managing infants and children with hearing loss.
