Practice Development Nurse (PDN) - Join Our Renal Nursing Team!

Calling All Experienced Nurses Dedicated to Renal Care!

Are you an experienced and dedicated dialysis nurse looking for a rewarding career in renal care? Diaverum, in partnership with the NHS, is thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity for a PDN to join our UK team.

The Practice Development Nurse will spearhead the training and education programs in our dialysis units, providing support to nurses and staff to ensure the delivery of consistently high-quality clinical care.

Our team of PDNs and Clinical Leads report to the UK Nursing Director. This position is to expand the PDN capability within the team and can be based anywhere in the UK. You must be willing and able to travel across different sites.

For the first 6 months of the role this will include regular travel to our 4 sites in Gloucester so you must be able and prepared to travel to Gloucester on a regular basis, staying over when required. When not travelling between sites you would be based out of a clinic allocated to you based on your home location.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Implement the programme of orientation for new staff members in accordance with Diaverum policies and procedure
  • Ensure the ongoing provision of mandatory training for qualified and unqualified staff in accordance with Diaverum Mandatory Education policy and procedure
  • To provide a source of current specialist nursing information and educational knowledge and teaches nurses and other dialysis support staff
  • Work with the Nursing Director to develop and implement training programmes for nurses to expand their clinical skills in accordance with both Diaverum and the referring Trusts standards
  • Identify training and development needs of staff within the clinics in accordance with local and national policy
  • To liaise with external educational institutions and the referring Trust to evaluate and plan for new courses
  • Work with the referring NHS Trust and Diaverum Nursing Director to initiate research projects and encourage nurses to undertake their own small research projects and support their progress.
  • To ensure that policies and procedures and relevant legislation are understood and practised by staff.
  • Work with the Clinic Managers and mentors to ensure that the mentors are able to support nurses undergoing all training programmes.

Requirements:

  • NMC Registered General Nurse.
  • Strong experience in a renal dialysis setting (ideally 4 years+).
  • Awareness and understanding of the NMC code of professional conduct.
  • In possession of a post-registration clinical course in Renal Nursing (ENB 136 or equivalent).
  • Have a positive and dynamic approach to providing safe and effective care.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent people management and leadership
  • Valid drivers licence (Essential)

Candidates would ideally have a Mentorship/Teaching Qualification (ENB 998 or equivalent) but if you have the right renal background we can provide practice education training.

What We Offer:

Full-time position (37.5 hours per week).

Monday to Saturday shifts, with no night or Sunday work.

Competitive Salary of 48k - 52k pa (as a total compensation package)

35 Days Holiday (inclusive of 8 days bank holiday), increasing with service.
