plans to build new hospitals. With an
award-winning, multi-disciplinary Programme Team and as one of the largest
new hospital projects in the UK, the Trusts Programme Team combines clinical
and design expertise, construction/project management excellence, and
specialist roles. It works in a
fast-paced and collaborative environment with responsibility for the
planning, design, construction and delivery of the new hospital.
We
are looking for new talent to help advance our plans to the next stage and
are looking for a Business & Operational Change Lead.
Reporting
to the Deputy Programme Director/Design Lead, the post will support the
transition to the new facilities and the development and implementation of
new patient-focused business processes and systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the
experience, knowledge and skills required to plan, co-ordinate, manage and
report on large scale complex operational change and oversee the development
and implementation of service focused change management plans.
The
role should be considered an on-site role with the opportunity to take
advantage from the Trusts flexible working policies. The role shall be required to work from any
of the Trusts, although is expected to be mainly based at
the LGI site or nearby.
Main duties of the job
The
focus of the role is an overarching responsibility for the development,
management and implementation of the Hospitals of the Future Project Change
Management and Transformation Plan.
The
post holder will work alongside the Deputy Programme Director/Design Lead,
other members of the BtLW Programme Team and representatives from relevant
Clinical and Non-Clinical Service Units to develop and implement a structured
programme of operational focussed change readiness assessment and change
management activities aligned to the design proposals and support the
transition to the new healthcare facilities.
The
post holder will work collaboratively with CSU Triumvirate Teams, Finance
Business Managers and the BtLW PMO, to ensure that that business &
operational change management plans and aligned activities have clearly
defined costed benefits, that are risk assessed for impact.
The
post holder will have several interfaces across the wider BtLW Team including
the Strategic Workforce & Cultural Change Lead, Project Managers and the
wider Programme Management Office; the post holder will also be responsible
for managing and supporting the Business & Operational Change
Practitioner.

Job responsibilities
The
post holder will be cognisant of current change management methodology and
have experience of leading transformational change projects within an NHS or
public sector environment.
The
post holder will be responsible for identifying the communication and
stakeholder engagement necessary to support the development and
implementation of business and operational change plans; the post holder will
also work closely with the BtLW Engagement Lead, Communications Manager and
Senior Project Managers to oversee the development of stakeholder
communication and engagement plans to support the effective implementation
the change plans and aligned activities.
The
post holder will develop and implement effective change and project
management methodologies to include the process and procedures of the BtLW
Programme Office; ensuring that implementation aligns to the Leeds Way Values
and the Leeds Improvement Methodology.
The
post holder will support the Deputy Programme Director/Design Lead to prepare
and present business & operational change management plans and progress
reports to clinical and non-clinical teams, senior leaders, and project and
programme boards across the Trust and external to the organisation.
The
post holder will have excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiating
skills and will be expected to prepare and present where necessary reports
for the national New Hospitals Programme (NHP) and ensure alignment with NHP
and NHSE transformational change & preparedness requirements.

Experience
Essential
- Experience of leading high impact transformation cross cutting change projects within a complex environment.
- Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring plans to support the transition to new ways of working and facilitating change.
- Inspiring confidence and developing highly effective working relationships with senior managers, finance, clinical and other non-finance colleagues.
Desirable
- NHS experience in a change management role
- NHS experience in a business management role
Qualifications
Essential
- Business Change Management Qualification at Practitioner level or similar.
- Post graduate qualification to Masters level or equivalent experience.
Skills & behaviours

- Demonstration of effective stakeholder management, with an on-going commitment to building and maintaining strong and effective partnerships and collaborations.
- Able to collate and communicate highly complex sensitive information.
- Highly developed leadership skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams and have them understand the Trusts performance expectations
