This is an exciting opportunity for a
mental health professional to join the Eating Disorders Outpatient Therapies
service in Herefordshire. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate
team member who has an understanding and a keen interest in working with
patients with eating disorders. The service addresses the needs of people (17.6
+) who are experiencing a range of eating disorders. The team is a countywide
service, supporting individuals and their families to talk about and understand
their eating disorders, provide NICE guideline approved psychological
treatments and to promote a recovery philosophy.
We are looking for
applicants with a strong interest in eating disorders who can work
independently in providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment to individuals,
whilst working as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
- Demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making by assessing and managing
patients including initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment,
and evaluation of care.
- Demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process
and work collaboratively with the MDT to meet the needs of patients.
- Provide NICE guideline approved
psychological treatments to people with eating disorders as well as managing
risk in relation to eating disorders and co morbidity.
- Liaise with other relevant professionals
in other fields of mental health to ensure that ED patients' needs are met.
- Attend weekly MDT meetings, participate
in professionals meetings, signpost to adjunct services depending on patient
need.
- Referral to other services to meet the patients
needs in relation to mental health, physical health, or cognitive decline.
- Engage with training on NICE approved
psychological treatments for eating disorders, as well as team development
sessions and other clinically relevant training.
- Attend regular line management
and clinical supervision.

Person Specification
Knowledge
Essential
- Understanding of professional and current issues in relevant clinical area

Experience

- One years experience working with people with mental health (this can be pre-qualification experience)
