Job description

Job responsibilities

Work throughout all of sections of the department on a rotational basis Work a mixture of early, day, and late shifts, and weekend and bank holidays Be responsible for the reception/data entry and processing of clinical specimens, these may include a range of swabs, body fluids, and blood samples Be involved in setting up a range of routine automated and manual laboratory tests Assist with the quality management of the laboratory (for example quality control procedures and audit as required)

Qualifications / Exerience

Essential

  • 5 GCSEs at A-C level or equivalent.
  • NVQ level 3 education or equivalent level of experience.

Desirable

  • Working knowledge and competency in laboratory bench areas.

  • Ability to communicate well with all staff.
  • Ability to plan and use own time economically and effectively.
  • A high degree of motivation and enthusiasm is essential for the role.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and as an individual.
  • Highly developed initiative skills.
