We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Primary Care Nurse at HMP Winchester to join our team. HMP Winchester is a Category B Local remand prison located in Central Winchester accommodating approximately 670 male prisoners.
Although the site is close to Winchester city centre there is onsite (free!) parking for all staff and it is a short walk from Winchester train station.
Due to HMP Winchester holding remand prisoners and to support the daily regime, we do require staff to work on rota basis and you can be asked to work nights, bank holidays and weekends although if youre looking for flexibility we can discuss this at interview
This position is full time 37.5 hours a week and you'll receive an annual salary up to £49,770 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nurse (Adult) youll be an integral part of the healthcare team at HMP Winchester by bringing your clinical skills and passion for care.
You could be involved in anything from
- Developing and leading clinics,
- Undertaking examinations and tests as well as answering emergency bells and potentially being the first person to attend an emergency.
- You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions

Job responsibilities
As a Senior Nurse you will lead a multi-disciplinary team
to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions. You will undertake medication rounds,
dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess
patients, and undertake reception screening.
You will contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to;
Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking
out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised
and informed by what matters to them.
