We are seeking Plastic Surgeons to join our Plastics Team here at Waikato Hospital.

We are keen to talk to you if you experienced or if you are starting out as a new Consultant. Either way you will play a key role in the development of our service.

An average week is never average - you will be working across acute and elective surgery, outpatient clinics, skin shop, teaching and serving a wide geographical spread population of over 860,000.

Positions can be permanent or fixed term, full time or part time by negotiation.

  • Acute and elective surgery
  • Outpatient clinics
  • Ward rounding on post acute and elective patients
  • Education and training of Junior staff, and other professions

Waikato Hospital is a major tertiary referral and teaching centre providing a wide range of plastic surgery services including hand surgery, head and neck, reconstructive surgery, lower limb, cleft lip and palate, as well as being the regional burns unit for the Midland Region. The department supports 5 regional secondary care and four satellite hospitals.

The successful applicant will join a well-established, dynamic team of 8 SMO and three MOSS supported by a strong multi disciplinary team.

The team are looking to expand the department to fit with projected service requirements, and welcome applications from those eligible for vocational registration in the specialty. All sub-specialty interests will be considered. Key attributes are: team focused, sense of humour, can do attitude.
