Job summary
The Strategic Business Manager
will work closely with the Partners and Deputy Practice Manager to further
develop the practice and to provide an effective service to our patients,
whilst having a strategic level overview of the Practice.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role include;
- Financial oversight.
- Investigate and ensure the practice is maximising all aspects of income
- Ensure patient access is meeting demand and agreed targets and agree action plans to modify or improve this critical aspect
- Create and contribute to practice strategy, formulate objectives, and develop ideas for future practice development.
- Optimise operational processes and procedures to maximise efficiency and productivity
- Establish and develop relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Oversee the development of PCN activity
- Establish good insight and influence on Digital Transformation Plans
- Ensure the Practice is at the forefront of Primary Care in the locality
- Ensuring the practice complies with CQC regulations and standards. Implement quality assurance measures to continuously improve the quality of care and services provided.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and develop new ones
- Monitoring QOF, LES, DES, IIF etc contracts to maximise income
- Ensuring all maintenance checks are fulfilled and reported on, including H&S risk assessments and mandatory training.
About us
Our Practice is within a
purpose-built Primary Care Centre in the heart of Nantwich with 20 clinical
rooms and 1 operating suite on the ground floor from which with provide a minor
surgery provision and an onsite Research Team. We are part of Nantwich and
Rural Primary Care Network.
Nantwich is a charming historical
market town, set beside the river Weaver, with excellent transport links with
Manchester only an hour away by train, the beautiful city of Chester is a
45-minute drive away and the North Wales coast just over an hour away. Nantwich has a number of excellent primary schools and two very reputable senior
schools.
We serve a population of circa
13,000 and our medical team comprises of:
6 GP Partners,
2 salaried GPs,
Large Nursing Team including Advanced Nurse
Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Trainee Nursing Associate
and HCSW,
Pharmacy Team including Pharmacist, Pharmacy
Technicians and a Prescribing Clerk,
Physiotherapists,
Social Prescriber
We also have an onsite dedicated
Research Team with 3 Nurses, Admin and three of our own GP Partners, with
valuable research studies constantly ongoing, there is always the opportunity
to become involved in our research team.
Kiltearn is also a GP training
practice for F1, F2, ST Doctors and medical students. We also have Partners
with an interest in coaching and mentoring, career conversation facilitating
and as appraisers, also one of our GP Partners is the Educational Lead for the
PCN.

Person Specification
Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the healthcare industry
- Experience in developing business strategy
- Strong ability with financial and budgetary processes
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and inspire teams
- Excellent understanding of business operations, financial management, and strategic planning
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations CQC, contracts etc

- Experience of working in a primary care environment, not essential
