Testimonial from our salaried GP

I have worked at Nexus Health Group as a salaried GP since summer 2020, having stayed on after my registrar year. I have found it a very positive working environment with supportive and friendly colleagues. There is a diverse mix of patients. I have enjoyed my usual clinics but also the ability to do contraceptive implants and in particular to help provide clinical support with the transformation of our back office teams. This allows me to have a different focus and means I can make an impact across our whole practice population by improving the experience for both patients and staff. Nexus is a forward-thinking organisation which combines the efficiencies of working at scale with the traditional benefits of being GP-partner led - I would recommend working here"

About us

Nexus was formed in 2016 with the merging of a number of established local practices in north Southwark. We look after a practice population of 76,000 patients spread across our 9 sites. The overall aim of Nexus Health Group is to provide a clinically excellent service to our patients, recognising the needs of our local population and to provide a learning and developmental environment for our staff. Our clinical approach is based on a foundation of clinical excellence, clinical leadership and clinical governance. We are a well recognised training organisation.

Our 9 sites across north Southwark are geographically close and well served by local transport hubs at London Bridge, Elephant & Castle and Canada Water. We share a single patient list but our patients are attached to a specific site and are looked after by local multidisciplinary teams which include GPs, Nurses, Physicians Associates, Paramedics, ANPs and Pharmacists. These site based teams are supported by Managers and administration staff, as well as centralised HR, IT, Clinical Administration and the Senior Management Team.

All our sites function as traditional practices with a Site Manager and GP partners working in the practice. All sites are involved in GP training and increasingly training the wider AHP team such as nurses and PAs. Nexus works closely with the local PCN with 2 partners as Clinical Directors.
