Job summary

We have an amazing opportunity for a Deputy Operational Services Manager for Consulting Facilities, you will actively support the Operational Services Manager, Consulting Facilities in the operational management of the department.

Main duties of the job

You will be supporting our senior clinical and non-clinical team within our business unit across all sites (Basingstoke, Winchester, Andover & Alton). You will be responsible for the monitoring of our outpatient clinic room utilisation and liaise with our Senior sisters to support the needs for our service users.

You will support the transformational changes within the operational running of our Outpatient room booking system and with our patient Self Check in Kiosks.

You will actively support the Operational Services manager, Consulting Facilities in the operational management of the department, deputising where required, giving the post holder further exposure to higher levels of management experience.This is to ensure the successful delivery to achieve a better understanding of our Outpatient room usage with the integration into our PAS system (Patient Centre).

You will provide leadership and operational management skills to support our clinical staff and administrative teams, escalating to the Operational Services manager (OSM) where appropriate.

You will line manage, develop, and support administrative and clerical staff, while also leading on improving the efficiency of our Outpatient utilisation.

Training & Qualifications

Essential

  • Evidence of degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, employment, or voluntary work
  • Strong level of IT literacy
  • Evidence of continuing personal development

Desirable

  • Evidence of Formal IT or System quialifications
  • Evidence of post graduate qualifications

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • Previous knowledge and experience of health service management, including a good understanding of CQC and their requirements
  • Significant experience of managing teams and line management
  • Understanding of the role of NHS bodies such as NHS England and NHS Improvement
  • Experience of developing policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Experience and understanding of governance systems and processes including CQC compliance
  • Excellent organisational skills

Desirable

  • Experience in service redesign and project management
