Main duties of the job

Are you an inspirational leader with experience in delivering education strategy? Are you a registered professional with significant experience and a passion for education?

We are looking for an enthusiastic registered professional, with significant relevant experience, to join the Division B education team as the Divisional Education Lead.

The Division B Education team is a team of multi-professional colleagues, responsible for the education delivery to nurses, support workers and allied health professionals across multiple care groups; Emergency Medicine, Medicine, Medicine for Older People, Specialist Medicine, Cancer Care and Pathology.

The successful candidate should be experienced in education and have undertaken a leadership role in education. The applicant should have strong strategic leadership skills, experience in delivery of education and have a desire to inspire others, whilst having a positive impact on patient care.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Responsibilities- To develop nursing practice within the Division, in conjunction withthe growing needs of the service and alongside key stakeholders including matron's, ward/team leaders and specialist support services- To develop, implement, review and adjust the provision of statutory and mandatory education and training in the Division, advising the Divisional Management Team of any governance issues.- To lead on workforce modernisation education and training, in partnership with the management teams and Human Resources, facilitating the development of new ways of working, ensuring workforce has been planned and developed in order to meet the needs of the service. To actively make changes as deemed necessary and inform Divisional management as required.- To be responsible for evaluating, monitoring and maintaining standards of quality for clinical practice/education including leading the Division B education team, collaborating with other divisional and trust-wide educators and mapping and co-ordinating the Training Needs Analysis/Continuing Professional Development for the division.

What experience/skills are needed?- A Registered Professional with a current/active registration- Teaching and Education Qualification and experience in delivering education- Proven ability to effectively facilitate clinical education and influence the learning environment for all learners- Awareness of key professional issues across the Trust and NHS, with clear strategies for mitigating these/overcoming these challenges

Person Specification

Qualifications / training required

Essential

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife / AHP with extensive experience or equivalent
  • Teaching and NMC/HCPC recognised sign off mentor qualification
  • Degree in health-related subject or equivalent
  • Masters or studying towards that level or equivalent

Previous or relevant experience necessary

Essential

  • Experience of managing patients with a wide range of problems
  • Portfolio which demonstrates in depth clinical and educational knowledge, underpinned by the completion of appropriate educational programmes
  • Proven ability to effectively facilitate clinical education and influence the learning environment
  • Well-developed educational expertise in relation to the planning and implementation of educational projects
  • Ability to network and build relationships within and across professions
  • Experience of teaching uni/ multiprofessional groups in educational developments
  • Awareness of current NHS professional and Trust issues
  • Management Leadership experience of a team
  • Evidence of contribution to professional development of nursing
  • Budget management
  • Evidence of developing others through training and education plans
  • Experience of teaching uni/ multiprofessional groups in educational developments Awareness of current NHS professional and Trust issues

Desirable

  • Microsoft Office experience
