Job summary

The purpose of this role is to work with others to provide administrative support to services, health care professionals and other administrators. You will be based at a particular site most of the time but as part of the role you may be required to visit other sites within the Diggory Division.

You will be expected to be studying towards and undergraduate degree or similar qualification and anticipate that this role will lead onto more experienced Business roles upon graduating from University. This role will involve you completing work-based learning and being observed at work as well as some training. You will be supported at all stages of the Placement.

Main duties of the job

To provide administrative support to the Business & Transformation/ Performance team in the Diggory Division.

To assist the Business and Transformation managers in a number of projects within the Milton Keynes Community and Mental Health Services; this could include analysis of information from the clinical systems.

To provide administrative support to project managers within a specified number of services. This will include preparing spreadsheets, setting up meetings and keeping plans up to date.

To use IT systems as required, following appropriate training, to carry out a range of duties to support Business Transformation.

To participate in maintaining an up to date collection of information and health education literature.

To maintain Purchase order and contract logs.

To assist in providing general office support to staff, e.g. setting up of meetings.

To ensure good Health and Safety practices at all time

To work in other areas of the trust, as required by the needs of the service.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • oThe post holder will be required to be working towards a degree or equivalent

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • oUse of Spreadsheets and other office software
  • oAble to analyse and interpret data
  • oKnowledge of developing business cases
  • oBasic presentation skills - verbal, written, graphical
  • oAble to work within a team with a keen interest in developing service performance
  • oCan do problem solving attitude

  • oExperience in NHS and/or working with NHS information systems

Knowledge

Essential

  • oAdvanced IT skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages and Project management software
