Job summary

Come and join the thriving network of psychologists working into Frimley Health. Following the success of psychological input into our Cystic Fibrosis Service, Frimley are investing in a 0.75 WTE 8B post to support the next stages of service development. There may be some flexibility in the number of hours; we would welcome a conversation, please get in touch.

You will be working with adults with CF and across associated pathways, within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, including dieticians, specialist nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, exercise practitioner, quality improvement lead, and consultants. You will be joining at an important time in CF care given the recent introduction of novel treatments and evolving developments in service provision.

There is a mix of inpatient and outpatient work, with a focus on providing a quality MDT approach to decision-making and embedding psychologically informed care. This post will suit someone interested in developing leadership skills and team working. You will join a network of clinical, health and sportspsychologists, supported by Consultant Clinical Psychology leads.You will be employed by Surrey and Borders Partnership (SABP) NHS Foundation Trust. We are an established provider of services working in physical health specialities across Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust and Frimley ICS.

Main duties of the job

Please refer to the job description and job overview:oTo plan and deliver a highly specialist psychology service (in leadership or advanced therapy role) and to oversee its clinical governance.o To be responsible for the professional leadership and continued development of a team and/or service area.o To be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways.o To ensure that the needs of people with protected characteristics are addressed within local services and future developments.o To demonstrate highly specialist expertise and specialist psychological skills such as specialist psychological assessments, formulation, therapeutic interventions and consultation to support people with complex needso To act as supervisor/teacher in teaching, facilitating and supporting pre-registration students and junior personnel and to participate in the audit of educational placements. To participate in new staff induction.o To research national best practice and enable services to benchmark practice against nationally recognised standards - in partnership with people who use services and carers.o To lead in developing and conducting clinical audit and research, maintaining current knowledge of research findings and development within the relevant area of practice.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology qualification or equivalent

Desirable

  • Additional leadership/management study
  • Completion of an appropriate clinical supervision course to enable supervision of trainees

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of leading in clinical practice, service development or project work.
  • Extensive post qualification clinical experience in relevant clinical setting

Desirable

  • Experience working in a physical health setting
  • Experience of implementing change following audit and service evaluation
  • Experience of supervising trainees, assistant psychologists, qualified clinical/counselling psychologists and others providing psychological therapies
