Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a registered nursing associate.

We are looking for an RNA with a desire to work with people with severe and enduring mental health needs. This is a demanding role in a busy service and ideally, you will have current or previous experience of working within a mental health setting.

You will have a collaborative and enthusiastic approach as well as passion and commitment in developing and promoting recovery based approaches for adults with severe and enduring mental health needs.

Main duties of the job

You will work as a Keyworker within the multidisciplinary team and manage a caseload of service users with a range of complex needs. You will develop care plans and deliver evidence based interventions and treatments to patients, alongside managing risks in the community.

Part of your role will require you to undertake the role of team duty worker. This role involves managing unplanned patient work within the team, responding to escalation of risk/crisis situations and may also include the triaging of new referrals.

You will benefit from encouragement to continue to develop your own specialist knowledge and competence. Your development will be guided using clinical supervision, management supervision, team/peer support, internal and external training opportunities and the Trust's appraisal process.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Nursing Associate Foundation Degree
  • On-going registration with the NMC
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development that supports clinical practice

Knowledge

Essential

  • Can demonstrate an understanding and knowledge base of mental health conditions and their treatments
  • Can demonstrate a working knowledge of physical health conditions and the complications that this can cause to patients experiencing mental ill health

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing care needs
  • Working experience within acute Mental Health Services
