Quality Matron Speciality Medicine

Matron within the newly established Speciality Medicine Collaborative. 37.5 hours per week fixed term for 12 months to cover a period of secondment. Flexibility in hours and working patterns may be considered. The portfolio for this post includes CIC Speciality Medicine, Stroke, Rehab/Medicine, Dementia/Frailty and Elderly care.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Collaborative for an enthusiastic candidate who is committed and passionate about patient safety, high quality safe care and the development of a sustainable nursing workforce North Cumbria can be proud of.

As part of the Trust's Quality Matron team the successful candidate will lead in collaboration with the Speciality Medicine Triumvirate to continue to develop our Speciality Medicine services. The post will be based within the Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle and will support the Collaborative Lead Nurse to deliver the strategic vision of the Chief Nurse.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Qualifications

Essential

  • o1st Level live NMC (RGN/RN (A))
  • oProfessional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses plus further specialist training to Masters equivalent level
  • oPP126/127 or equivalent teaching/assessing D32/33 qualification
  • oLeadership Course
  • oEvidence of CPD
