Job summary

The RUH Swimming Pool is looking for Bank Swimming Pool Attendants (Band 2) for the upcoming season.

You must be a strong swimmer, able to deal confidently with emergency situations including entering the pool to assist a pool user who is in difficulty, be able to work independently and have good interpersonal skills. Resuscitation/Lifeguard or similar experience is desirable, but not essential. Training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

The pool is due to open in March through to September opening on weekdays from 8.00am until 7.00pm, extending to 9.00pm in June, July and August. Weekend opening is from 10am. The pool is staffed by a small team of pool attendants. A flexible approach to working hours is essential.

Essential

  • Must be a strong swimmer
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • To communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to sensitively deal with pool user issues

Desirable

  • Previous pool attendant/lifeguard experience
  • Good knowledge of Pool Health & Safety issues
  • Holder of life saving certificate
