Job summary

We are seeking a qualified, HCPC registered dramatherapist to join the specialist Arts Therapies (art, drama & music) Team within Sirona's Adult Learning Disability Health Service (ALDHS). This is a temporary post for 7-8 months (dependant on start date) to cover a career break.

The learning disability service consists of three multi-disciplinary community teams: Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG). These teams provide specialist health services directly to people with learning disabilities and their families/support networks, and indirectly by liaising with other services and offering support on how to work with people who have a learning disability and how to make reasonable adjustments. The community teams operate Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the arts therapies team, you will be a key part of a multi-disciplinary team and approach, which will include attending meetings and taking on MDT focused tasks.

You will work closely with other health colleagues to think holistically about the needs of people with learning disabilities and carry out in-depth assessments.

You will provide direct one to one therapeutic interventions to both adults and children, as well as providing specialist psychological expertise to staff / families and support networks.
