We are looking for a newly qualified or already practicing speech and language therapist to join our SLT team in Waltham Forest. You will be working in our mainstream schools and in our pre-school clinic.

Main duties of the job

Speech and Language Therapists are core to the efficient service delivery that we provide to children, young people and their families.

As a Speech and Language Therapist in our service, you will deliver care to children, young people and their families in schools and within the clinic setting at different locations in Waltham Forest including Wood Street Health Centre.

You will be working within our mainstream school's team where you will hold a caseload within the school/s you are allocated to and also in our pre-school clinic team where you will complete initial assessments and intervention.

Our band five therapists are well supported through our band five peer supervision group and regular supervision from an experienced therapist. We have regular catch-up meetings and service specific meetings. We have both internal and external training opportunities and promote being a reflective team where change is welcomed.

About us

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-CostArea Supplement This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15%.
