Job summary

The post holder will:

Work within a health care team consisting of Clinical Service Managers, Team leaders, and Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. The composition of this team will vary from shift to shift and the post holder must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with all team members.

As part of a national service, will support with mental health and wellbeing calls, which may be of a very diverse nature covering all clinical aspects from an variety of callers, whose cultural, social andemotional diversities require be acknowledging and taking into consideration during the consultation.

Work with clients experiencing a variety of mental health and wellbeing concerns via telephone. Through completing a mental health triage assessment the post holder will support patients to achieve a safe and appropriate outcome.

Support the mental wellbeing and health of patients, promoting positive mental health and employing psychosocial techniques to increase mental wellbeing.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for health professionals to work in a key role within the mental Health 111 /Single point of access team in Swansea Bay Health board. the service is new and developing and will be the first point of contact for individuals requiring urgent mental health support.

The post holder will have the opportunity to develop their skills and awareness of community services, shadowing assessments, working with the MDT and wider mental health services and supporting the clinicians within the single point of access team to progress in their nursing career.

The post holder will provide brief clinical risk and mental health and well being assessments, triage and formulation . The post holder will work via telephone, using their experience to de-escalate crisis and coach people in distress using a range of brief psychological interventions.

The post is open to all qualified and non registrant professionals who have experience in working in the field of mental health.

The team is 24/7 with a variety of shift patterns including night duty.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
