Job summary

We are looking to appoint to our current Emergency Department consultant establishment at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. You will join our dynamic and supportive team, who constantly strive to provide excellent patient care to the Trust.

A broad general knowledge of Emergency Medicine is expected, and there will be an opportunity to develop a specific area of self-interest which compliments the other consultants and will be expected to uphold the highest standards of clinical governance, patient safety, service delivery, working towards the betterment of patient outcomes and enhancing the quality of our Emergency Medicine services.

The Emergency Department and wider Trust supports Consultants to enjoy an exciting, flexible and fulfilling career and we value a variety of special interests in order to build our team expertise. Qualifications

Essential

  • MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise and entry on GMC specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview
  • Valid provider status in APLS/EPLS ATLS, ALS

Desirable

  • Instructor status in life support course

Experience

Essential

  • Higher specialist training scheme in Emergency Medicine or minimum of 5 years' experience in Emergency Medicine.
  • Good understanding UK Emergency Medicine

Desirable

  • subspecialty experience e.g., GP, Acute Med, Paediatrics, Anaesthetics, Care of Elderly, CDU/Ambulatory Care
  • Experience in Digital Innovation within Healthcare
  • Experience in CDU/Ambulatory Care.
  • Experience in simulation medicine.
  • Previous experience of using online patient record system e.g., SystmOne.

Skills

Essential

  • Clinical supervision experience/skills
  • Basic IT skills
  • Ability to lead and manage ED staff.

Desirable

  • EM Ultrasound competencies
  • Sound knowledge NHS multiple structures and systems.
