Job summary

Flintshire and Wrexham (East) CAMHS are seeking an experienced Family Therapist to join our service. You will have a main base and work across our other base, as needed, alongside our other senior Family Therapist.

This is a full-time, permanent post. Relocation packages are available.

You will deliver high quality family therapy to children, young people and families experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties, alongside a multidisciplinary team. We are seeking a dynamic Family Therapist to have a key role in leading and developing our systemic and family therapy offer across East CAMHS.

Flintshire and Wrexham CAMHS offers a 0-18 service to children, young people and families. We provide an extensive offer to our local community including significant early intervention and prevention services, unscheduled care, an Early Years 0-7 service and a broad range of NICE recommended and other evidence based interventions. Significant joint working takes place with multi-agency partners with whom we have very good relationships.

Regular in-service training takes place, alongside weekly peer case discussions, in addition to multidisciplinary team meetings and team away days.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have a significant role in the provision of family therapy, offering clinical supervision and consultation, developing and leading on appropriate training, in addition to being a key member of our multidisciplinary team to support our systemic thinking and formulations. Involvement in developing and maintaining clinical skills within the wider team and service development will form a key part of this role. Regular supervision will be provided.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant degree
  • A recognised post graduate Family Therapy or equivalent qualification at level of Masters or higher academic award
  • A professional qualification in a relevant regulated profession eligible under the Mental Health Measure (Wales) 2010 e.g. nursing, social work, clinical psychology
  • UKCP registration as a family/systemic Psychotherapist
  • Highly developed knowledge of systemic theory and practice
  • Knowledge of research design and methodology as practised within the field of family therapy
  • Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to this client group i.e. children
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the UKCP/AFT

Desirable

  • Additional relevant academic and/or accredited therapeutic qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial assessed experience of working as a registered family/systemic psychotherapist
  • Experience of implementing evidence based family interventions
  • Substantial assessed experience in relevant regulated profession e.g. nursing, social work or clinical psychology
  • Experience of taking full clinical responsibility for clients' care, with experience of co-ordinating care within the context of multi-disciplinary care-planning

Desirable

  • Experience of working directly with children and young people
  • Direct experience of Care Coordination under the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010
  • Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
