30-Minute testing as standard with fields done by support staff
Well equipped with OCT, Phoropter, Humphries fields, Auto-refracter etc.
2 test room practice with occasional double testing
Contact lens work required
The role is to work 3-4 days including a Saturdays, (9:00- 5:30), and no Sundays

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

You will conduct standard sight tests in 30 minute slots and also complete Contact Lens fittings and aftercares as well as help advise and recommend products working with the team to offer the best patient experience. You will be using a range of equipment including OCT, Pulsair, Humphries HFA III, Digital clinical records and Trial lenses.
As with all independent practices every member of staff helps out in all areas of the practice as required.

Requirements of the Optometrist

The ideal applicant will be hard working and clinically focused with a passion for the business and a commitment to deliver the highest in standards of the customer journey.
You will be a friendly and approachable person with a good attitude.
A proactive approach to your work is required as when not testing you will be happy to be on the shop floor answering questions and helping in other areas of the store.
This company is looking for a long term resident optometrist to help further develop the business and maintain this company’s good reputation.
*You must be flexible to either be doing MECS and enhanced services accredited, or happy to do the courses as full support is provided to achieve qualification.

You will occasionally be asked to cover one of the businesses other practices local to the walsall area for holiday/ sickness cover.

Compensation of the Optometrist

On offer to the right person is a competitive salary of up to £50,000 basic, (depending on experience and accreditations), plus professional fees.
For a newly qualified Optometrist my client would be offering a salary of up to £40,000 along with training, support and opportunities to develop clinically.

*There may be the opportunity to work in other practices within this small group.
