An exciting opportunity to work as a Salaried GP in Islington.

We are looking for a GP to work 4 sessions a week, with flexible working supported. Competitive salary, 6 weeks annual leave, and CPD allowance. Mentoring available.

We are a dynamic, inner city training practice, who embraces innovation. We have operated a total triage approach for six years with morning coffee breaks the norm and low number of home visits. Appointment lengths are flexible dependent on patient need, a cap is applied to ensure a safe number of patients are offered care daily.

The practice is an active member of the South Islington PCN, and we work closely with a wide community-based team.

Main duties of the role

To provide clinical care to all patients (general medical service)

To provide clinical administrative care for patients (results, letters, prescription queries)

Working in partnership with all members of the health care team to support the highest standard of service delivery and development.

Job Responsibilities

Assess patients presenting as acutely ill or exacerbation of long-term conditions

Diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting with an undifferentiated diagnosis

Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective, and plan clinical care accordingly

Assess, diagnosis, plan, implement and evaluate interventions/treatments for patients with complex needs

Prescribe and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, patient needs and in accordance with evidence-based national formularies and practice protocols

Work with patients and their carers to support compliance with and adherence to prescribed treatments

Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side-effects and interactions

Priorities health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations and initiate effective emergency care

Support patients to adopt healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care
