Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Radiology department at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a Band 7 Sonographer to work within the fantastic ultrasound team where a variety of work is undertaken. An experienced Sonographer would be desirable, however, a training position would be considered. We provide ultrasound scans in the following areas: general, vascular, musculoskeletal, interventional and paediatrics.
This post is part of the collaborative initiative of the Community Diagnostic Hub program. Although the successful candidate will be employed by South Tees Hospital Foundation Trust (STHFT), there will be an expectation of collaborative working across the Tees Valley. The successful candidate will join the ultrasound rota for STHFT and work across all ultrasound service sites. Successful candidates will be an employee of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and managed as per the governance arrangements currently in place for Radiology and the organisation.

Main duties of the job
The Radiology Department has multiple ultrasound scanners on several sites including The James Cook University Hospital. Friarage Hospital, One Life, Redcar Primary Care and Guisborough sites. A weekend service is also provided at James Cook site currently. A new CDC site will be opening in October 2024 in Stockton which will be part of staff rotation.

Qualifications
Essential
- Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Medical Ultrasound
- HCPC registration or other relevant regulatory body

- Attendance at the leadership and development and improvement programme (4.5 days)
- Masters in Medical Ultrasound
