This post offers 4 days direct clinical work with no On Call split between the secondary care Pain Clinic, the Bath Centre for Pain Services and Anaesthetics at the RUH. There is no On Call. This post can be appropriate for a new or experienced Consultant looking for a varied clinical role.
This post can also offer Chronic Pain work only with no anaesthetics.
We would like to invite applications for a Locum Consultant Anaesthetist with Advanced Pain Training. The successful candidate will be working in a dynamic and thriving A.C.S.A accredited Anaesthetic department.
The post holder will deliver:
Chronic Pain Speciality - Assessments, follow ups and interventions in the Pain Clinic and work with the Bath Centre for Pain Services to provide assessments, patient education and hold medical responsibility for patients during their residential treatment.
Anaesthetics -Direct clinical work with the large Directorate of Anaesthetics.
A thorough induction period will be provided. The existing team are highly specialist and have a strong history of service improvement and development, where research, representation in professional bodies and teaching are core to the services. Main duties of the job
To provide assessments for secondary care Pain Clinic.
To provide medication review, interventions or referrals to the MDT
To provide assessments along with the interdisciplinary teamfor the National chronic pain services
To provide medical over sight and medication review along with the interdisciplinary team in the Bath Centre for Pain Services when patients are attending residential treatment.
To provide sessions to Anaesthesics team as agreed at recruitment.
