Job summary

We are looking for an experienced and motivated full time Specialty Doctor, to join the Women's directorate of the West London Forensic services, based at The Orchard, St Bernard's Hospital Ealing.

Candidates are invited to discuss this appointment informally and in confidence with Dr Mansi Sood, Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist and Clinical Lead.

Main duties of the job

You will be joining a well- established multi- disciplinary clinical team providing care across two wards. The wards are each commissioned to provide care for 10 women with mental disorders who require treatment in conditions of medium security. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of a consultant forensic psychiatrist to provide effective, responsive, caring and safe treatment for the women.

Your role would be, together with the Responsible Clinicians and CT, providing front-line mental health assessment and care including attending ward rounds, CPA meetings, community meetings and reflective practice.

Essential

  • MBCHB or equivalent medical qualification
  • Shall have completed at least 4 years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies

  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment
  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Practice including: ogood clinical care omaintaining good medical practice ogood relationships and communication with patients ogood working relationships with colleagues ogood teaching and training oprofessional behaviour and probity delivery of good acute clinical care

Language Skills
