Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Department at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for two qualified nurses to join the team as Occupational Health Screening Nurses.

The post holders would ideally have had a wide variety of nursing experience; with an enthusiasm for working within Occupational Health and delivering a high quality service that meets the needs of employees/clients.

The role is varied, involving a range of occupational health screening services for the Trusts 11,0000 staff and the department's external customers. The role involves working within an Occupational Health and Wellbeing multi-disciplinary team, providing a range of confidential services including venepuncture, vaccinations/immunisations, supporting staff following a needlestick injury, work health assessments and health surveillance. Clinics can be held across Trust sites or external customer bases as required by the service.

Main duties of the job

The post holders are required to have achieved NMC level 1 registration with post qualifying experience gained in the NHS.

There is a requirement for the successful candidates to travel independently across Trust sites and external customer bases.

Hours of work are usually within office hours, however there may be a requirement to work flexible on occasions to meet the needs of the service.

  • Currently Registered on Part 1 of the NMC register
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Ability to prioritise work in a busy department and respond to deadlines.
  • Team member. Aware of own competencies and limitation
  • Ability to run clinics at OH sites and satellite clinics across the organisation when necessary
  • Demonstrates clear and effective interpersonal, written, listening and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Motivated to improve the service delivery through audit and research
