Specialist Community Occupational Therapist
Calne & Corsham Community Team
30 Hours per week - Permanent
This is a very exciting
opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Calne and Corsham
Community Team. Are you passionate about Occupational Therapy, patient-centred
care and maintaining peoples health and independence in their own homes? Do

effects of ill health and disability and maximising the individual potential
for independence, then this post is for you. You will be expected to work
closely with General Practices, Adult Social Care, and other statutory and
non-statutory services to meet the needs of the local population, so excellent
communication skills are essential for this role.
You will be part of the therapy
team with opportunities within the organisation to develop your leadership and
clinical skills. Calne and Corsham Community Team consists of nurses, nurse
associates, heath care support workers, therapists, assistant practitioners,
care coordinators and rehabilitation support workers. The team provide high
quality, complex care in the community setting which includes caring for some
very vulnerable people in challenging environments.
Main duties of the job
This post would suit a
motivated, organised, and experienced occupational therapist who works well as
part of a multidisciplinary team to support the Occupational Therapy caseload.
The therapy team are involved in supporting with D2A discharges via our Home
First pathway one as well as supporting the team with urgent referrals and
urgent falls responses.
Responsibilities will include
supporting with supervision and leadership across the therapy team and
supporting the Team Lead and Clinical Lead with service development, in-service
training, and quality improvement.

Qualifications
Essential
- Dip COT/BSc/BSc(Hons)/MSc OT
- Registered as an OT with the Health and Care Professionals Council
- Relevant Post graduate qualification
- Teaching and assessing in clinical practice
- To possess a current, valid driving licence and to be a competent driver
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Knowledge of legislation affecting professional practice
- Experience of applying research based information to practice

- Non-medical prescriber

- Further qualifications relevant to community practice
- Awareness of recent Government initiatives that may affect future clinical practice
