Job summary

The Marketing team within the Commercial department plays a vital role in promoting the Hospital. It serves as the face of HJE, coordinating and producing all materials representing the Hospital. It is the Marketing teams role to reach out to prospective patients, consultants, GPs and Allied Health professionals and community whilst creating an overarching image that represents our beliefs and values and generating profitable leads for the hospital.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the role is to manage and develop the Marketing and Communications team so that they promote HJE to our target audiences and generate profitable leads through the delivery of an agreed Marketing plan in line with the Hospitals objectives. To also engage key stakeholders by putting in to action an agreed Internal and external communications plan.

Job responsibilities

  • As directed by the Commercial Director, implement an annual Marketing Plan to generate leads which convert into sales, enabling the profitable growth of the Hospital
  • As directed by the Commercial Director, implement an annual Communication plan and keep the Hospital and key stake holders informed
  • Market and competitor analysis to inform marketing & business development opportunities which fit our brand, maximising all opportunities for growth
  • Devise and implement direct marketing campaigns, on and offline to specifically generate leads which convert into sales, enabling the profitable growth of the Hospital
  • Oversee the production of promotional activity and collateral to drive direct marketing activity, in particular but not exclusively self-pay customers
  • Monitor and report actual on and off line marketing activity v target and spend to show a return on investment
  • Ongoing review and updates of the Hospital website to attract, inform and generate new sales enquiries

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject and evidence of further study and or additional qualifications/experience in marketing
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Minimum 3 years Independent hospital sector experience within a Marketing or Communications role

Desirable

  • Able to demonstrate experience of running successful direct to consumer self-pay campaigns within an Independent Hospital through multiple channels
  • Able to demonstrate changing from a standard website to an interactive direct booking website including fee collection within the Independent Hospital sector
  • Evidence of successfully managing projects using a collaborative and professional approach and operating well under pressure
