We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and innovative individuals to work in the Urgent Treatment Centre in West Cornwall. These posts are based at the West Cornwall Hospital, Penzance and will include occasional clinical sessions in the Emergency Department at The Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro for training, supervisory and CPD purposes.
Applicants will be qualified GPs with acute medical experience and a desire for innovation. Training will be provided prior to commencement of clinical duties in addition to a generous CPD and remuneration package. There will also be opportunities to teach undergraduates from the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry.
Applicants will be required to contribute a minimum of one clinical shift per week on a rota combined with Emergency Department Specialty Doctors. Some weekend working will be required together with out of hour's sessions which attract additional remuneration.
Main duties of the job
The 24 / 7 Urgent Treatment Centre was launched in Spring 2012 bringing the current Casualty Department and a new Acute GP Clinic together with enhanced diagnostic and radiology support. The hospital has regular support from both Consultants and Acute GP Services in Truro. Clinical services will be run by Emergency Department Specialty Grade Doctors, Nurse Practitioners Urgent Treatment Centre GPs and junior medical staff.
Successful applicants will contribute to the development of this exciting venture dovetailing local primary and secondary care services to ensure that appropriate urgent clinical services are delivered closer to patients' homes.

Experience
Essential
- Experienced in Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance
- Minimum four months recent experience in Emergency Medicine

- 12 months recent experience in emergency medicine
