Job summary
We
are looking for an experienced procurement professional to develop and lead
our team within the newly created North East and Region focused on
contracting for medicines products and homecare services. You will head up the team and provide
strategic direction and promote collaborative working across the teams to
support the efficient and effective delivery of the service.
You
will develop and manage a team of procurement professionals and clinical specialists,
develop the category strategy plans, identify, and manage workplan
opportunities, provide professional guidance for collaborative procurements
and deliver performance targets.
This
role is hybrid, with time split between our office in Leeds and remote
working. The role involves face to
face meetings and requires some travel outside of the region.
Interviews
/ focus group will be held on the 1st February 2024 in Leeds venue TBC.

Be responsible for the strategic
direction of the team within the pharmacy portfolio of licensed medicines,
unlicensed medicines and medicines homecare services, quality assurance of
medicines, services and suppliers
lead on legislative changes impacting
public procurement with the introduction of the Procurement Act 2023 and
subsequent legislation coming onto force during 2024
promote and support the development
and implementation of efficient and consistent working practices across the
organisation, leading on continuous improvement of procurement processes.
develop a strategic plan for the
organisation for the next 3-5 years taking into account the requirements of
the consortia members, national plans and initiatives in the NHS and the wider
public procurement arena.
agreeing annual workplans and
providing written updates to the consortia members on progress of workplans
and against the strategic plan.
develop and manage innovative
projects and complex specifications to support the consortia member

Experience
Essential
- Significant and advanced Procurement knowledge and experience in a senior procurement and supply chain senior role
- Full understanding of NHS, wider public procurement, and commercial world
- Significant and extensive knowledge, experience & understanding and application of Strategic Sourcing methodologies
- Significant experience of supplier relationship management
- Development of organisation strategic plans aligning to local, regional and national priorities

- Significant experience in analysing and resolving issues and influencing people
- Ability to critically evaluate programme information and its methodologies, economics, ergonomics, clinical challenges whilst working with multi-disciplinary teams

- Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or appropriate professional institute or relevant experience.
- MBA or equivalent qualification or significant in-depth senior level experience.
- Project Management Training (or equivalent experience)
- Risk assessment/analysis training (or equivalent experience)
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
