The Practice Development team is pleased to announce a brand-new opportunity to join the student leads in supporting our student midwives at Wexham Park Hospital.
The role will be split with clinical shifts: 50% of the role will be clinical shifts in the maternity unit, 50% of the role will be leading on the CLiP project with the Practice Development Team.
The primary purpose of this role is to lead the support, implementation and evaluation of the Collaborative Learning in Practice (CLiP) model of working within maternity.This is a supervision model where students work in small groups under the guidance of a practice supervisor.

Job description
Job responsibilities
- The post will require the post holder to work with and in Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust to prepare and implement the CLiP project in maternity and to support midwives, students and other involved staff members with the project.
- Undertake training about the CLiP model of student supervision, including coaching techniques.
- Work with teams to implement the model through education, coaching, resources and onsite mentoring.
- Prepare midwives, students and other associated staff, who will be working in the CLiP project, including how to use coaching techniques.
- Support students and midwives on the CLiP project on the postnatal ward intially, reporting and escalating when needed to the Lead for Midwifery Students and Lead Midwife for Education.
- Supervise students reflective learning, using identified time during the project.
- Attend relevant meetings related to the CLiP project, both locally and regionally as required. Represent the Trust at local and regional events and developing and sustaining links with other CLiP midwives to share best practice.
- Be responsible for the planning, co-ordination and evaluation of the programme.
