Main duties of the job
This is an
exciting opportunity to join an innovative team, based in Bridlington. The role will support service users with
diverse and complex needs and their families with issues relating to substance
use including alcohol. The post would involve assessing need from a person
centred and strength-based perspective.
You will have a good understanding of recovery and have a value base
that stems from a strongly held working belief in individuals ability to
change and live in recovery along with a desire to ensure each service user has
access to the information and 'tools' needed to live a fulfilling life in
recovery.

The Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) are a registered charity who have
been transforming the lives of people affected by drugs and alcohol misuse for
over 35 years.
East Riding
Partnership (ERP) is a partnership between ADS and Humber Teaching NHS
trust. It has three hubs, Hull,
Bridlington and Goole. It is
multi-disciplinary team led by a consultant and provides treatment services in
the community. The services include
aftercare, young people, community rehabilitation programme, a specialist
supporting image and performing enhancing drugs/steroids and a team supporting
service users and cares through a team of volunteers and peer mentors
Job description
Job responsibilities
To
provide structured key working and psychological/psychosocial based
interventions, assessment, referral and advice in a variety of settings to
those who have experienced problematic drug and/or alcohol use.
To participate in the development of the service and
practice and to liaise with a variety of internal departments and outside
agencies.
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
- Experience and understanding of case note and report writing
- Understanding of health and safety
- Knowledge of substances and their effects
- Understanding of the recovery movement
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary working
- Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults and Children principles and application in practice
- Knowledge e.g. mental health issues
- Understanding of the issues facing substance users including social care, welfare benefits, health and accommodation
- Knowledge of therapeutic interventions that can be used when working with service users
Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified and registered Social Worker
- Microsoft Office including outlook, word and excel
