Job summary

We are recruiting for a Pathology Workstream Administrator who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Duties for this role include organising meetings, diary keeping, and liaising with technical staff. In addition this person would be involved with audits within Pathology and assisting with documentation for external quality reviews.

Main duties of the job

You will handle general telephone and email enquiries and resolving them

Sorting and distributing on incoming and outgoing mail to the relevant department

Take minutes and use audio typing for: Pathology communications meetings and any other pathology meetings as required.

Distributes meeting agendas and minutes to appropriate staff

Person Specification

Qualifications/Training

Essential

  • Computer literacy
  • Educated to GCSE level

Desirable

  • Recognised secretarial qualification or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in an office environment in administration role
  • Experience of collecting / collating / basic analysis of data
  • Experience of working in the NHS or social care environment
  • Experience of note-taking and transcribing minutes
  • Evidence of telephone communication with members of the public

Skills/Knowledge

Essential

  • Able to communicate readily at all levels and with a wide range of professional / clinical staff
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • High level of personal organisational skills, including relentless level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and organise own workload & highlight priorities to others
  • Able to work to tight deadlines, irrespective of distractions
  • Practical office IT skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and email
