Job summary

We have a brilliant opportunity for a creative, organised and initiative-taking person to join our team and be the lead for developing and delivering highly effective communications campaigns, as well as playing a significant role in the running of our communications service.

This is a new role and we are looking for someone with a passion for outstanding communications to grab it by the horns and make their mark!

Main duties of the job

The role of Senior Campaigns and Communications Advisor sits within the communications part of our wider team and for reporting purposes is responsible to our Stakeholder and Media Engagement Specialist.

You will be required to work closely with other members of the wider team to ensure awareness and to inform effective communications planning.

Similarly, you will have a crucial role in helping to bring together communications leads in BSW Together (integrated care system) organisations, helping to develop and deliver insights-driven campaigns that provide patient-facing information and encourage positive, healthy behaviour changes.

You will also play an integral role in the running of the BSW ICB communications service including providing best practice guidance, copy-writing, media handling and support for crisis communications handling.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Manage an effective communications and engagement campaigns calendar and forward plan of content for the communications team (in partnership with other team members) that supports the team to plan its work programme effectively including participation in regional and national NHS announcements and campaigns.

Evaluate our communications campaigns and compile reports which describe the impact of our work and include communications metrics, to drive continuous improvement in the delivery of our communications.

Support the external communications activity with proactive and reactive media work where required.

Collaborate with colleagues within the wider Communications and Engagement Team as well as with our system partners across the campaign lifecycle to leverage insight, channel expertise and resources.

Provide clear campaigns briefings and specialist advice and guidance to senior colleagues.

Provide communications support during a major incident or crisis.

Work with the digital engagement officer to provide relevant and engaging content and materials for the ICB/ICS websites, social media and other internal and external communications channels.

Person Specification

Knowledge, Training and Experience

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Further training or significant experience in project management, financial management or supporting change management processes
  • Experience and understanding of evaluating and measuring the performance of health services.
  • Experience in communications and stakeholder management

Communication skills

Essential

  • Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences
  • Evidence of success in efficient and effective project and programme management
  • Skills for communication on complex matters and difficult situations, requiring persuasion and influence.
  • Skills for nurturing key relationships and maintaining networks
