Job summary
We are seeking an experienced part time Practice Nurse to join our Nursing team. The role will be for up to 30 hours per week and includes long-term condition management, cytology, vaccinations, health screening, health promotion. Experience of working in General Practice is preferred. Initially the contract will be a 12 month Fixed Term and will be reviewed after 12 months.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant must be a Registered Nurse and have current NMC registration. The main duties are to provide Practice Nursing services and support to the GPs, Nurses and patients at Hawthorn Surgery.

Hawthorn Surgery has a list size of 6600 patients and is a Training Practice. We work from Wortley Beck Health Centre, a purpose built Health Centre in Lower Wortley, Leeds 12 which has on-site parking. Our friendly team includes our Practice Manager, GP Partners, Salaried GPs, Nurses, Healthcare Assistant, administrative and reception staff. We are also supported by our PCN team which includes pharmacists, physiotherapists, ANP, Frailty Nurse, and Social Prescribers. We are a Systm One practice.

Job responsibilities
We are looking for a part time experienced Practice Nurse. The successful candidate will hold current NMC registration. We are looking for a nurse who is enthusiastic, organised and confident to work unsupervised in a treatment room. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this post. The post is for up to 30 hours per week.
The post is not open to candidates from outside the UK as we are not able to offer visa sponsorship.
The successful applicant may at times be asked to cover for colleagues annual leave and other absences.
Duties include;
Phlebotomy
Home visits
Annual reviews
Cervical screening
ECGs
Attend and participate in training and meetings as required
Travel vaccinations
Wound care/removal of sutures/clips
Injections and vaccinations including children' immunisations
Asthma care
Diabetes care
COPD care
Long term condition management would be desirable but not essential.
