What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to a recruit a Bank Highly Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Bank Team, with a competitive pay rate.

As an autonomous practitioner within a multidisciplinary team, the Bank Highly Specialist physiotherapist will assess, treat and manage their own caseload.

The role will form part of a highly effective, innovative and evidenced based therapy provision across all inpatient services, working with the Therapy team in the specialist areas.

As Bank staff your role will focus on service delivery of a high quality, robust and highly effective therapy provision to the specific area. With support from the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist this role will motivate, empower, coach and develop team members through supervision frameworks. You will oversee physiotherapy Caregivers within the physiotherapy team.

This is a Bank role with the following shift patterns:
Monday to Friday: 8:00 – 16:00 or 10:00 – 18:00

Job Responsibilities:

Assist in operational management and deliver neurological physiotherapy with advanced assessment, management and clinical reasoning to neurorehabilitation patients linking in with the wider MDT
Provide and act as a source of clinical expertise in the physiotherapy management to patients to MDT deputising for the clinical lead as required
Take a proactive lead in using routine outcome measures to improve patient care
Provide highly supportive supervision and coaching to other therapists and assistants.
Keep informed of evidence, changes to practice, relevant research and guidance to discuss at regular opportunities to progress and develop own / MDT practice
Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work, ensuring a high standard of care and actively encourages and motivates others to do the same
Identify areas of research and quality improvement priorities to add to wider respiratory physiotherapy development strategy.
Assist in identification, mitigation and management of risks as part of clinical governance.

What we need from you?

Post-graduation experience and education in a variety of inpatient specialties including orthopaedics, respiratory, neurological and general surgical specialties.
Degree in Physiotherapy
Current registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Post-graduation experience and education in a variety of inpatient specialties including orthopaedics, respiratory, neurological and general surgical specialties.
Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) desirable
A minimum of 12 months acute hospital experience as a Physiotherapist at senior level in a variety of inpatient specialties including orthopaedics, respiratory, neurological and general surgical specialties
Knowledge of role of psychological effects on rehabilitation and management of effects
Demonstrate expert respiratory and manual handling skills including effective application of neurological physiotherapy techniques / specialist therapeutic handling techniques and use of equipment including robotics.
Extensive experience of multidisciplinary / multi agency working at senior level
Experience of audit, quality improvement, clinical effectiveness and project planning
Experience of supervision, appraisal, development and managing performance including competency development.
Experience of delivering multidisciplinary education and training – in service training
Experience of empowering and engaging patients to make informed decisions over their care
Specialist knowledge and experience in application of clinically reasoned, safe and evidenced based techniques, assessments, management plans and outcome measures in relevant clinical area

Physical Requirements:

To be able to lead and assist in rehabilitation / manual handling of complex and potentially dependent patients with appropriate equipment including specialist robotics and compliance with manual handling policies
To work in an inpatient neurorehabilitation / ICU environment with potential interruptions such as acutely deteriorating patients requiring urgent review, emotionally challenging scenarios requiring intense focus and frequent exposure to potentially unpleasant materials such as bodily fluids.
