An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic staff nurse to join our Medical Day Unit at Prince Charles Hospital.
MDU is a service that has been established to enable Medical patients to receive day case treatment preventing admission to hospital.The MDU provides a varied amount of treatments to patients from all medical specialities.
We have a dedicated, friendly and hard working team within the department delivering high standards of patient care within the MDU setting and provide support and guidance every day.
Main duties of the job
Main duties will be to provide treatment to patients in an ambulatory setting. Patients will either be planned to return or acutely referred via the GP/OPD Services.
NMC code of conduct, policies and procedures should be adhered to at all times.
The aim is to provide a seamless service and enhance patient care. Providing a positive patient experience.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Job responsibilities
You will be required to assist with the day to day running of the medical day unit and accomodate patients from a variety of settings within the medical directorate. Patients will require day case treatment which is ultimately contributing to admission avoidance. You will be required to administer infusions, Intramuscular and sub cutaneous injections, Oral medicines, blood transfusions, Provide health promotion and assist with ongoing/post investigation management of CT Biopsies, asitic drains and Lumbar puncture.
