Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST6+) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to commence from 30 September 2024 until 05 August 2025.

The aim for this post is to develop a specialist interest and complete ATSMs in the various specialities within the department such as Obstetrics and Maternal Medicine, Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Medicine, Benign Gynaecology, Urogynaecology, Early Pregnancy Unit, and Gynaecological Oncology.

The post has been made possible in order to complete the compliment of Senior Registrars required to cover all essential duties within the department and with this there is a requirement to cover the on-call rota at a tier 3 level.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be expected to utilise the experience provided to contribute to Service improvement projects and audits within the department.

The post has an on-call commitment on the Senior rota. This is a four tier on-call rota with Senior House Officer and registrar (ST3-5 or equivalent) support, an on-site resident Senior Registrar as well as separate on-call Consultants in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Other clinical commitments will be negotiable to suit the applicants and the department. It is expected that the applicants will participate in Medical Student teaching.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application is required.

CUH is a University Teaching Hospital and Tertiary Referral Centre that offers particular experience in Laparoscopic, Endometriosis and benign Gynaecological Surgery, Reproductive Medicine, IVF, Gynaecological Oncology, Fetal Medicine, Uro-Gynaecology, Maternal Medicine, Labour Ward management, Outpatient Hysteroscopy, Clinical Governance and Audit.

The department enjoys close links with the University of Cambridge, Academic Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and opportunities to participate in research may be available to suitable applicants.
