Job summary
A unique and exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced and proactive Locum Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist at the UHNM Heart Centre (incorporating Thoracic Surgery). UHNM Cardiothoracic Surgery serves both local and regional patients, providing the highest standards of anaesthetic care for leading edge procedures, including Mitra Clip, Minimal Invasive Cardiac Bypass Surgery and TAVI. The successful applicant will join a team of 11 Cardiothoracic Anaesthetists, working within the integrated cardiac services, which includes: Cardiothoracic Critical Care, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and a comprehensive Cardiology Department. The service is continuing to expand and the ideal candidate will be focused on providing the highest possible standard of patient care and contributing to service growth, development and innovation.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must have full registration with the GMC including a License to Practice, and be on the Specialist Register (or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training) and should be proficient in all aspects of adult cardiothoracic anaesthesia and critical care.
