Job summary
An exciting opportunity for a
Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist looking to make an impact on the lives of
people with complex disabilities and those recovering from acquired brain
injury including TBI and stroke and/or other neuro conditions.
You will be supported by our
existing SLT Team and you will also work very closely with our friendly,
dynamic multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the wider success of these
services.
Main duties of the job
In
this role, your duties will include;
the assessment and treatment of language,
speech, swallowing and associated cognitive communication disorders.
the provision of
training and advice to colleagues, families and carers for the holistic
treatment and management of clients.
working as a member
of QEFs specialist multi-disciplinary team to ensure the effective provision
of speech and language therapy services for clients with complex neuro-disability.

We moved into our new 48 bed Centre in July 2020 and now have the opportunity to support more people experiencing disability. - We have a friendly and experienced rehabilitation team including support workers, nurses, OTs, physios and psychologists.
- All staff participate in the key therapist/worker program for clients.
- Your personal development will be supported with supervision, reflective practice, in-house training and CPD opportunities.
- This role is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks which will include an Enhanced with adults barred list check DBS (at the cost of QEF if you are not already a member of The Update Service).

Job responsibilities
- To hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.
- To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary neuro-rehabilitation team, contributing to the planning, development and delivery of an effective and efficient service.
- To contribute, as a member of the speech and language therapy team, to the evaluation and audit of practice. This may lead to the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols/care pathways.
- To liaise with other involved agencies and with clients and carers to provide an integrated service.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Diploma or degree leading to the RCSLT Certificate to Practice
- Registered member of RCSLT
- Having a licence to practice with the Healthcare Professions Council
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
