Trust are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable radiographer to lead the
cardiac catheter labs radiographic services and staff at Watford General Hospital.
This role offers a real chance to make a difference, as you will be responsible
for implementing and maintaining radiation safety for the department and will
be required to work closely with the radiation protection advisors and the
radiology radiation protection panel.

Participate in being an effective member of the
Cardiac Cath Lab team, providing a high standard of radiographic service to
Cardiology and patients.
Use your clinical knowledge and experience to
inform the optimal delivery of the service and to jointly manage the Cath Lab
service with the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager.
You will have responsibility to supervise junior
staff and students including those radiographers during their training in
interpretation of plain images.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Applicants are required to have a good knowledge of working in cardiac catheter labs, and operation of Siemens Artis Q x-ray system.
- Applicants must be qualified radiographers with valid AHP registration.
- Radiographers must have a good knowledge of IRMER and IRR, and how they apply to working in cardiac catheter labs especially in relation to ALARA for both patients and staff.
- Knowledge and experience of undertaking QA programs is desirable but not essential.
