Job summary

Our Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service are looking for a Young Person's Multi Skilled Worker to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse client group.

Main duties of the job

As a Young Person's Multi Skilled Worker you will be providing support and advice to young people who are experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse. You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help. You'll work with them to assess their needs, develop care plans, deliver a variety of treatments and refer them to other specialist support when needed. You will develop plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years worth of references and where applicable, will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check. This role is also subject to Staffordshire Police Vetting.

    Experience

    Essential

    • You will work as part of a team with the aims of:
    • understanding your clients
    • keeping them safe
    • creating a plan they can achieve with your support
    • checking in with them and reviewing their progress
    • keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them
    • working effectively with other social care providers e.g. Housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery
    • continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients
    • supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care
    • You will have experience of working with young people, ideally in a health & social care/substance misuse setting, as well as knowledge and understanding of the issues they face and current trends. Having a driving licence and access to a vehicle (or be willing to learn) is preferred for this role.
    • We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people and in different settings. You will also be results driven, highly organised with excellent time management skills.
