Job summary

Clinical and Care Professional Leads support south east London-wide and borough programmes of work, therefore, there is an expectation that you currently work within south east London, and for borough based roles, within that borough.

The clinical care professional lead for SEL CYP is a pivotal post within the South East London BCYP programme. The postholder will- provide strategic clinical leadership for improving the health and well-being of babies, children and young people across the SEL ICS footprint.- provide expertise and ongoing support to the development and implementation of CYP programmes designed to improve outcomes and reduce inequalities,- work with stakeholders to identify service improvements and developments which are best done once for the system, or on a Place footprint, or via collaborative / network / an individual provider,- provide oversight and clinical support to the management of the SEL BCYP CCPL's (tier2)

Main duties of the job

  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support and lead thedevelopment of a BCYP programme plan for the system which takes account of local priorities and regional and national asks for BCYP transformation
  • Support for the development, implementation, improvement and evaluation of care pathways for BCYP Improving the health and wellbeing of children and families by reducing inequalities in access, outcomes and experience of care.
  • Championing the voice of BCYP and the residents of SEL in various forums. The post holder will be expected to represent the voice of BCYP and their families in various forums including internally within the system but also externally, ensuring the views of SEL are fed into improvements and strategies being developed across London and more widely.
  • Ensuring a holistic approach is taken to BCYP services and engaging with a range of SEL wide clinical leads, key partners and other relevant organisations to support this e.g Learning Disabilities and Autism, Mental health, Urgent and Emergency Care, and Maternity and Neonatal services.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualified care and/or clinical professional i.e. NMC, HCPC, social work register, GMC etc. Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.

  • Engagement of patients and public and the principles of co-production in service design and delivery

Skills

Essential

  • The ability to work in partnership with lead clinicians, health care professionals and other stakeholders and a partnership approach to working across organisations.
