This is an exciting opportunity to work in Children's and Young Peoples (CYP) Mental Health sector. You will play an important part in a forward-thinking service delivering interventions into schools within the Wigan borough as part of the mental health support team in schools.The post holder will be responsible for delivering interventions within a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in identified schools and colleges and for the clinical supervision of Education Mental Health Practitioners within the team.The post-holder must have completed the HEE Postgraduate Diploma in Education Mental Health Practice or Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Wellbeing Practice for children and young people; and have previous consolidated post graduate experience of working with young people with emotional and mental health issues.
In addition, you will have extensive experience of delivering evidenced-based CBT interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues such as anxiety, low mood and behavioural problems to CYP both individually and in groups.
Main duties of the job
Delivering consultation to school staff in education settings. Toassess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions that are agreedwith the child and caregiver in accordance with best practice.To ensure comprehensive risk assessment of children, young peopleand families and that risk management plans are in place anddocumented.To develop and review whole school mental health initiativesalongside young people, school staff, senior leads and parents.To provide 1:1 brief intervention for mild to moderate mental healthproblems.To provide low level intervention including behavioural activation,CBT informed worry and anxiety management interventions, gradedexposure, sleep and stress management, behavioural experiments.To evaluate the success of intervention at regular intervals usingRoutine Outcome Measures (ROMS)To liaise with schools and other agencies in terms of informationgathering and sharing.To offer parent consultation, support and advice and parent led CBTapproaches.To inform local child protection co-ordinator and senior clinicians ofany concerns regarding protection issues.To gain feedback on experience through session rating scales,experience of service questionnaires.To see families/children in the setting most appropriate for effectiveand efficient care.Supervising the clinical practice of Education mental health practitioners.

Essential
- Post graduate accreditable qualification CBT, EMHP, CYWP.
- oEvidence of continuing professional development in the field of child and adolescent mental health
Desirable
- Completion of a CYP improving access to psychological therapies certificate.

- The post holder should: oExperience of assessment and delivering evidence based mental health interventions including low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy interventions. oExperience of Multi-disciplinary working within a CAMHS setting oExperience and knowledge of implementing safeguarding procedures for children and adults. oExperience in utilising and interpreting routine outcome measures in practice. oExperience of peer supervision, supervising colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team and consultation in other agency settings.
