Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for two fixed term or seconded Quality Assurance Clinicians to join a small but developing, dynamic multi professional team dedicated to delivering high quality s117 and specialist placement package assurance and support alongside supporting mental health quality at a time of service development.

We are specifically looking for clinicians interested in undertaking placement reviews as part of a project with social care colleagues.

The team has been part of the changes in Mental Health Commissioning and Quality Assurance, and have recently transitioned from the Birmingham and Solihull ICB into the newly formed Mental Health Provider Collaborative (MHPC) which is hosted by Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT)

Main duties of the job

These posts are for Mental Health & Learning Disability qualified clinicians / professionals for a team which works jointly with the local authorities, and commissioned organisations to process, fund and then undertake quality assurance reviews for both s117 aftercare packages and specialist hospital placements for Birmingham & Solihull ICS. as well as undertaking specific clinical work to ensure Dol's are in place for submission to the Court of Protection. These placements are within the West Midlands and wider, so there is an expectation of an ability to travel locally on a weekly basis and further afield on occasions. There will be an increasing focus on quality as the team develops.

You will be an experienced clinician, from within a Mental Health and / or Learning Disability setting, either as a nurse, allied health professional or social worker, and have an understanding of legal and clinical frameworks and pathways.

You will need to be self motivated, have good clinical and organisational skills, with an eye for detail . The clinicians in the team hold a caseload of applications and reviews and need to be able to communicate with a broad range of people including, providers, service users and families, and fellow clinicians. The post involves both self directed / lone and team working .

This role gives the opportunity for hybrid working and you will typically be asked to work in a hybrid way, the majoroity of the reviews will be at provider sites but will also include working from your home and also from Trust HQ The Uffculme Centre, or any other agreed site.
