Job summary

An exciting opportunity of a clinical teaching fellow post has arisen at CAV in Obstetrics and Gynaecology suitable for grades ST5 and above. The post starts from August 2024 and is for a year (fixed term). It is full time based in University Hospital of Wales (UHW) and University Hospital Llandough (UHL) sites. The postholder is responsible for teaching and supporting undergraduate medical students during their placements in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, implementing Cardiff University's C21 curriculum. This role will involve direct teaching, pastoral care, examination preparation and assessments. The postholder will also be encouraged to support the postgraduate education activities of the department, including MDT obstetric emergency training and simulation training. The post holder will participate in 1:10 senior tier rota to keep up their experience in the field of Obs/gynae. They will be involved in planning and delivering teaching to the year 4 medical students Cardiff University. This would entail mentoring students and preparing them for being future F1 s. The successful candidate gets the opportunity to do postgraduate certificate in medical education.

  • oMBBS or equivalent oMRCOG part1 oFull current GMC Registration with licence to practice oMembership of a Medical Defence Organisation
