Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and clinically confident Psychological Welfare Practitioner to join our supportive team to work under the guidance of the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher to offer therapeutic support to the students on role at Home Tree School. This will be onsite to day students, and outreach to home tutored students to deliver, facilitate and review practice and progress by a consultation model and is clinically led by the psychologist within the company. This role will involve a close and collaborative working partnership with all staff at Home Tree School and other agencies.

Main duties of the job

1.To facilitate therapeutic and social groups or one to one session 2.To plan and prepare therapeutic groups in consultation with relevant clinical professionals within Cambian and Senior Leadership Team/SENCo. 3.Plan, deliver, record and review Emotional Literacy sessions and monitoring these sessions for all students. 4.To carry out informal observations of young people within lessons and contribute to attendance, behaviour and education planning. 5.To maintain up to date and accurate records, to review plans and hold meetings in relation to progress collaboratively with staff, students and parents/carers. 6.To facilitate staff training on areas of mental wellbeing/health and associated behaviours and presentations. 7.To maintain own CPD as needed with guidance from Senior Leadership and clinical team and to attend all training sessions as required by the role. 8.To be have a sound understanding in Trauma informed practice, Attachment Theory, Child Development, and Systemic Theory. We are also keen to develop learning and share knowledge within the team and wider service. 9.To keep accurate mandatory recording, reporting and responding to duties on all matters relating to safeguarding, effectively and efficiently creating a culture of safety across the school in line with the most recent and updated national guidance.

You will formulate and implement plans of therapeutic intervention of children and young people's presentation based on psychological understanding the difficulties within a current evidence-based practice in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team/SENCo at the setting.

You will be based and working from Home Tree School, but may need to provide some outreach support to students that are home tutored or absent from education.
