Job summary

Would you like a fast-moving role that helps patients and supports clinicians, where no two days are the same? If so, we are seeking enthusiastic, confident, and motivated Administrators within our busy Single Point of Contact (SPoC) service. Successful candidates will be part of the team providing a service that includes answering telephone calls from patients, carers, GPs, hospitals, the Ambulance Service, and other health care agencies and professionals, and processing email referrals and messages received by the team. You will need to be able to pay attention to detail and accurately record information on the electronic patient record and pass this electronically or verbally to clinical colleagues in a timely way to ensure seamless, consistent, and safe care to patients. The team also provides general administrative support to the Integrated Community Teams (ICTs), which consist of nurses, health care support workers and therapists.

Working hours will be rostered between 8:00am and 6:00pm. Monday to Friday, however, you will be required to work your contracted hours which includes weekend and bank holiday cover on a rota basis, for which enhancements will be payable.

Main duties of the job

Under the supervision of the SPoC Admin Team Lead, receive and process referrals following service criteria. Clinical triage will be provided by the clinician on duty. Receive, process and follow up referrals received from external stakeholders via email and telephone as indicated in the Standing Operating Procedure. When necessary be able to assist in the provision of administrative/secretarial support to the clinical triage staff, according to the needs of the service users. To type clinical correspondence relating to the assessment clinics using digital dictation system BigHand.

The service currently operates on a rota basis 7 days a week Monday to Sunday between the hours of 08:00 to 18:00. Applicants need to be flexible to ensure cover for holidays and sickness and will be included in a 6-week roster to cover weekends and bank holidays.

Essential

  • *Educated to GCSE or O level or equivalent including Maths and English grade C or above
  • *NVQ level 3 in Business and Administration or equivalent.
  • *IT experience in the user of computer software packages (Microsoft office)
  • *RSA III or equivalent audio typing
