Job summary

At East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, we're planning a once-in-a-generation redevelopment of our hospital facilities, enabling us to go even further in providing the very best care for our patients.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of developing plans for the redevelopment and new build projects across the 3 main hospital sites of Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill for the population of East Sussex.

The team already includes specialist advisers, estates experts, digital experts, programme leadership and management, clinical leadership and subject matter expertise.

This Co-Production and Engagement Manager role will add to skill set within the programme team to enable co-production of the building designs and clinical models with members of staff and the East Sussex Community. The critical skill for this role is engagement and facilitation capability across a complex range of stakeholders, with different purposes, on a complex and in some areas challenging programme.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will:

Identify and map key internal and external stakeholders to develop a tailored engagement approach for effective and impactful engagement for the BFF programme

Establish a proactive co-production plan to extend and maximise engagement with staff, community groups and third sector organisations to include diverse and those traditionally seen to be harder to reach groups

Develop a series of regular engagement and co-production activities for staff, patients and external stakeholders

Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their concerns are acknowledged and appropriately addressed

Monitor coverage related to New Hospital Programme (NHP),collate stakeholders' views and learn from other organisations in the programme both to inform the plans we produce and engagement approaches are effective

Maintain, exploit and contribute to a network within the NHP to ensure we benefit from and share best practice, experience and expertise

Provide highly complex, sensitive and potentially contentious information briefs and reports, including presenting information about the programme and dependencies to a wide range of clinicians, colleagues, our Executive team and external stakeholders (including other providers in NHS Sussex, our ICB as well as patient groups, local authority colleagues, VCSE) in formal and informal settings
